Around the yard_ Nov 26

I am linking up with   Mosaic Monday and Our World Tuesday

I hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving and a great weekend.. I am sharing some photos and mosaics from my yard and around our neighborhood.. Since the leaves are off the trees we have a nice view of the lake from the fireroad..

We some snow the day before Thanksgiving. It was enough to look pretty on our pine trees and it brought a lot of birds to my feeders.

It seems the Mourning Doves have some kind of radar, they show up immediately after putting out some fresh bird seed.

One day hubby and I took a walk on the local fireroad, we could see the lake thru the trees..included in the mosaic are a couple of Purple Finches, a Goldfinch, sunset and a shot of the crescent moon.

Not the best shot of these pretty birds on my feeder.. Not sure why, but when I first saw these two birds I could tell by their white brow they were Purple Finches, on the photo they look like House Finches?

The family had a great time on Thanksgiving, the happiest time was with Baby Neill.

I hope you can join in on our fun at  Mosaic Monday and   Our World Tuesday

Thanks to Judith our  host of Mosaic Monday and to the hosting group of Our World Tuesday: Arija, Gattina, Lady Fi, Sylvia, Sandy and Jennifer.  I wish everyone a happy week ahead!

The Carolina Chickadee is a common bird in my backyard.. They come and go quickly to my bird feeders.

The Blue Jay is feasting on the peanut suet nuggets..

A Tufted Titmouse waiting for the feeder..

This little devil is a piggie and likes to sit in the feeder. As always I hope you enjoyed my post and critter photos..

NCR Trail & more

Linking up with Skywatch Friday  and Good Fences

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

These are some photos from our walk on the nearby NCR Trail.  It was an old railway and has been turned into a bike-hike and running trail..Sometimes we see horse back riders too.  I am also sharing some moon and sky shots for my Skywatch Friday post..

We saw a few woodpeckers like the Redbellied Woodie above.

A section of the trail crosses the stream but I took this shot mainly for my Good Fence post.. I hope this works as a fence photo.

There were lots of berries around and some yellow colors still left on the trees..

Some more autumn trees and contrails in the sky above..

I like the jet trails in this shot, a pretty blue sky during our walk on the NCR trail.

Another shot of the Redbellied woodpecker.

Another section of winding stream, a fence, more pretty red berries..

The moon shot is from Nov 8th.. a pretty almost full moon. I hope you enjoyed our walk. Thanks for coming along..

More on the Bald Eagles

I am linking up with  :Our World Tuesday    Wild Bird Wednesday and Nature Notes

For this weeks Wild Bird I am sharing more photos of the Bald Eagles we saw at the Conowingo Dam and the Susquehanna River in Maryland..

As many of you know I have had some computer problems lately..I have not been able to visit everyone's blog post and make comments.. I believe I am back to normal now. I am using Google Chrome because the IE-11 was not compatible with blogger and my computer was reformatted..I lost some photos and documents.  I do hope everyone is backing up their computers. I learned it is not good to keep too much on your computer. I have been using my backup external hard drive and deleting photos from my files..

An adult Bald Eagle in a tree above the parking lot..

During the month of November this spot below the Conowingo Dam seems to be a gathering spot for the migrating Eagles.. As many as a hundred or more Bald Eagles and juveniles Bald Eagles can be seen during a day's visit..

A juvenile Bald Eagle with a couple of Black Vultures..

A juvenile Bald Eagle in a tree above the parking lot..

There was a contest going on with the professional and amateur photographers taking the best Bald Eagle photos... This shot above show some of the photographers and their equipment..

Hubby and I walked further down the trail next to the river,  this Eagle was sitting on some rocks in the middle of the river. I hope you enjoyed my Bald Eagle post..

Wishing all my USA blogging friends a very HAPPY Thanksgiving..

Around the yard_Nov 4

Linking up with Skywatch Friday  and Good Fences

For my post this week I am sharing more scenes and birds from around my yard.. The sky shots are thanks to my dear hubby..The moon, birds and fence shots are all me..I love taking photos of the moon, I think it is because of the great zoom on my Canon SX40 camera.. I am off work and home today Nov 4th for Election Day. It is nice two Tuesday's in a row my work is closed, today for Election Day and next Tuesday for Veterans Day..

The moon shots from Oct 29 and Nov 2.. for my Skywatch Friday post.

The Waxing Gibbous moon on November 2nd..

For Tex's Good Fences.. I am sharing the fence behind the Redbud tree and azalea bush in front of our shed. And from last winter some tree branches took down our old split-rail fence..and last our neighbors driveway is between us and the next door neighbor.  It has not been used as a driveway since we have lived here.. Our old fence is covered with vines and berries, the birds love whatever it is..

One of our red maples in the front yard, it was a pretty year for this tree.

I walked around our yard taking some of these shots.. Some birds photos were actually taken from my dining room window..My Cardinal looks like he swallowed a Christmas ball.. And shown in the middle side is the Tufted Titmouse.. Both of these birds are year round visitors to my yard and feeders.

More for my Skywatch Friday post, these are some of hubby's sunset shots from the fireroad... I love the pretty colors and tree silhouettes..  I hope you enjoyed my post, thanks for stopping by. And I  appreciate and thank you in advance for your nice comments..

Black Bellied Whistling Ducks

I am linking up with Wild Bird Wednesday and Nature Notes

For this week's Wild Bird I am sharing the Black-bellied Whistling Duck that I saw in Belize.. These shots were taken from my boat ride and birding outing on the Sittee River near Hopkins, Belize..

I have been enjoying these ducks at Theresa's blog @ Tex's Whistlers-on-wednesday  that I decided to share some of my photos of these adorable ducks...

I think these shots are not too bad considering we were in a boat..These Whistling Ducks are one of my favorite birds. They are just so darn cute..

They are a large duck with a long neck.. a grayish face, bright pink bill and legs. They have a chestnut breast and black belly. And they really do have a whistle call.

Flocks feed on waste grain on agricultural fields or they eat at Theresa's yard in Texas..I hope you enjoyed my ducks and post..

As always I thank you in advance for stopping by my post and for the nice comments.  Sorry, I am not able to send thank you emails for your comments, working full time, life and blogging takes up a lot of time lately.

Around the yard_Nov 1

I am linking up with   Mosaic Monday and Our World Tuesday

Happy November..Can you believe it is November already?

Sharing some scenes from around my yard and some images from the neighborhood..of course I always have to share some birds. Some are yardbirds and some are birds that are seen and heard in the woods next to our house.. I have a four season look at our weeping cherry tree and some scenes from the lake near the house and the Autumn colors.. I hope you enjoy!

Some yardbirds and neighborhood birds are the Carolina Wren, Golden-crowned Kinglet, American Robin, Dark-eyed Junco, House Finches and female Purple Finches.. They are seemed to be common birds seen now..

The Carolina Wren is a year round visitor in my yard.. It seems to love the wood piles my hubby has around the yard..

A seasonal look at our weeping cherry tree.  It is a popular spot for my yardbirds, it is just a short hop over to the feeders hanging on our deck..

A cardinal on the feeder and the weeping cherry tree.

Just a short walk from our yard is the lake,  we take many walks on the fireroads around the lake.. The falls colors were pretty around the lake and in the forest.. I hope you enjoyed my look around the yard and neighborhood..

A view of the lake from one of our recent walks..

As always I thank you in advance for stopping by and for the nice comments. Sorry, I am not able to send thank you emails for your comments, working full time, life and blogging takes up a lot of time lately.

Saturday's Critter's #48

Saturday's Critter's #48

Happy weekend everyone!

I am looking forward to seeing everyone's critters..I appreciate everyone who has linked up in the past and for those who are linking in on this week's critter party. And of course I always appreciate my blogging friends stopping by just for a visit..

I am taking you all back to Colorado with this post, hubby and I visited the Rocky Mountain Arsenal NWR located just northeast of Denver.. I try to make a point in visiting any closeby wildlife refuges during our trips..

I had to laugh at this Great Blue Heron. It was not happy that a Black-billed Magpie joined him on this tree.

This heron seem more at peace on it's own little island in the pond.. I will do another post with more birds seen at this wildlife refuge..

Bison were introduced to the refuge in 2007. We only saw a few bison on the day of our visit.

The wildlife refuge is also known for its Prairie Dogs. This was my first time seeing Prairie Dogs in the wild.. They are cute.

Driving on the wildlife drive we noticed quite a few areas with the Prairie Dogs..

Another critter from the refuge....this is either a Mule Deer or the White-tailed deer. Both deer species are found on the wildlife refuge. I hope you enjoyed my critter post and photos..

Thanks to Tex Theresa aka Tex, I was able to add this link up button and thanks to  Jennifer for creating my photo badge.
